Christopher D. Scott
Christopher D. Scott focuses his practice on business tax planning, estate and gift tax planning, and non-tax law that relates to taxation issues. Mr. Scott is Board Certified in Tax Law by The Florida Bar and has experience in income tax law, estate and gift tax law, real estate tax law, partnership and limited liability company law, probate and trusts laws, mergers and acquisitions, Indian gaming law, and other areas of law that affect owners of closely held businesses and people who wish to pass wealth to younger generations. He achieves his clients' goals in tax-efficient ways that are durable and cost-efficient to operate both in the short and long terms.
Mr. Scott has a thorough understanding of U.S. income and estate and gift taxation of international transactions. He designs transactions and property ownership to avoid double taxation, and provides the widest flexibility possible to account for future contingencies. He has developed a special proficiency in representing buyers, sellers and owners of commercial real estate. He also resolves tax disputes, fiduciary litigation and disputes between owners of closely held businesses in a cost-efficient manner.
